मुआवजे की मांग पर अड़ा परिवार, बिजली विभाग की लापरवाही पर उठे सवाल
मोदीनगर, गाजियाबाद। मोदीनगर थाना क्षेत्र के सीकरी गांव में बुधवार सुबह एक बड़ा हादसा होते-होते टल गया। खेत की ओर जा रहे एक परिवार की भैंसा-बुग्गी टूटकर पड़े बिजली के तारों की चपेट में आ गई। परिवार के सदस्यों ने समय रहते बुग्गी से कूदकर अपनी जान बचा ली, लेकिन भैंसा करंट लगने से मौके पर ही मर गया।
प्राप्त जानकारी के अनुसार मंगलवार रात क्षेत्र में तेज आंधी और तूफान आया था। खराब मौसम के कारण कई स्थानों पर बिजली के तार टूटकर खेतों और रास्तों में गिर गए थे। बुधवार सुबह जब एक परिवार भैंसा-बुग्गी लेकर खेत की ओर जा रहा था, तभी रास्ते में पड़े बिजली के तारों से भैंसा टकरा गया। करंट लगने से उसकी मौके पर ही मौत हो गई।
घटना के दौरान बुग्गी में सवार परिवार के सदस्यों ने स्थिति को भांपते हुए तुरंत छलांग लगा दी, जिससे उनकी जान बच गई। ग्रामीणों का कहना है कि यदि परिवार समय रहते बुग्गी से नहीं कूदता तो बड़ा हादसा हो सकता था।
घटना की सूचना मिलते ही बड़ी संख्या में ग्रामीण मौके पर पहुंच गए। पीड़ित परिवार ने बिजली विभाग पर गंभीर लापरवाही का आरोप लगाया है। उनका कहना है कि रात में तार टूटने की जानकारी होने के बावजूद विभाग द्वारा क्षेत्र को सुरक्षित करने या तारों को हटाने की कोई व्यवस्था नहीं की गई।
परिवार ने मृत भैंसे के लिए उचित मुआवजा देने तथा जिम्मेदार अधिकारियों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की मांग की है। घटना को लेकर ग्रामीणों में भी भारी रोष देखा गया।
वहीं नायब तहसीलदार मुकेश कुमार ने बताया कि मामले की जानकारी मिलते ही पटवारी को मौके पर भेज दिया गया है। राजस्व विभाग द्वारा नुकसान का आकलन किया जा रहा है और रिपोर्ट मिलने के बाद आवश्यक कार्रवाई की जाएगी। एहतियात के तौर पर मौके पर पुलिस बल भी तैनात किया गया है और प्रशासन पूरे मामले पर नजर बनाए हुए है।
ग्रामीणों ने प्रशासन से मांग की है कि टूटे बिजली के तारों की समय रहते मरम्मत कराई जाए ताकि भविष्य में इस तरह की घटनाओं को रोका जा सके।

Modinagar, Ghaziabad: A major tragedy was narrowly avoided on Wednesday morning in Sikri village under Modinagar police station limits when a buffalo cart carrying a family came into contact with a broken electric wire lying on the road. While the family members managed to jump off the cart and save themselves, the buffalo died on the spot due to electric shock.
According to reports, strong winds and a storm hit the area on Tuesday night, causing electricity wires to break and fall across several fields and roads. On Wednesday morning, the family was heading towards their farmland with a buffalo cart when the animal came into contact with a live electric wire lying on the route.
The buffalo suffered a severe electric shock and died instantly. Family members acted quickly and jumped from the cart, preventing what could have turned into a much larger tragedy involving human casualties.
Following the incident, a large number of villagers gathered at the spot. The affected family accused the electricity department of negligence, claiming that despite the wires breaking during the night, no steps were taken to remove them or secure the area.
The family has demanded adequate compensation for the loss of the buffalo and strict action against officials responsible for the alleged negligence. The incident has also sparked anger among local residents.
Naib Tehsildar Mukesh Kumar stated that a revenue official has been sent to inspect the site and assess the damage. Further action will be taken based on the official report. Police personnel have also been deployed at the location, and the administration is closely monitoring the situation.
Villagers have urged authorities to ensure timely maintenance and repair of damaged power lines to prevent similar incidents in the future.
