मोदीनगर। सारा गांव के रास्ते को 24 फीट चौड़ा कराने की मांग को लेकर शनिवार को बड़ी संख्या में ग्रामीण तहसील दिवस पर मोदीनगर तहसील पहुंचे। ग्रामीणों ने एसडीएम के सामने अपनी समस्या रखते हुए कहा कि विवेकानंद चौक से सारा गांव तक जाने वाले रास्ते का चौड़ीकरण जरूरी है। ग्रामीणों का कहना है कि रास्ता कई स्थानों पर बेहद संकरा है, जिससे रोजाना आवागमन में परेशानी होती है।
ग्रामीणों के मुताबिक, इस मांग को लेकर वे पहले भी कई बार तहसील दिवस में शिकायत कर चुके हैं और धरना-प्रदर्शन भी कर चुके हैं।
मस्जिद के पास रास्ता संकरा होने से जाम की समस्या
ग्रामीणों ने बताया कि सारा गांव तक पहुंचने वाला रास्ता कई स्थानों पर काफी संकरा है। खासतौर पर मस्जिद के आसपास सड़क की चौड़ाई कम होने के कारण एक वाहन के रुकने पर भी जाम की स्थिति बन जाती है।
ग्रामीणों का कहना है कि आने वाले ठंड के मौसम में गन्ने की बुग्गियों और ट्रैक्टर-ट्रॉलियों का आवागमन बढ़ने पर समस्या और गंभीर हो सकती है। किसानों और ग्रामीणों को इस मार्ग से निकलने में काफी परेशानी का सामना करना पड़ता है।
24 फीट सड़क पर पहले बनी थी सहमति
ग्रामीणों के अनुसार, पूर्व में एसडीएम के साथ हुई बैठक में रास्ते को 24 फीट चौड़ा करने पर सहमति बनी थी। बैठक के दौरान यह भी तय हुआ था कि रास्ते में बनी पैड़ियों को हटाया जाएगा और अतिक्रमण हटाकर सड़क को निर्धारित 24 फीट चौड़ा किया जाएगा।
ग्रामीणों का आरोप है कि सड़क का कुछ हिस्सा बनाया गया है, लेकिन जहां रास्ता सबसे अधिक संकरा है, वहां अभी तक अतिक्रमण नहीं हटाया गया है। इसके चलते सड़क को निर्धारित चौड़ाई तक नहीं किया जा सका है।
कहीं 22 तो कहीं 20 फीट से भी कम है रास्ता
ग्रामीणों का दावा है कि रास्ते की चौड़ाई अलग-अलग स्थानों पर अलग है। कहीं यह करीब 22 फीट है तो कहीं 20 फीट या उससे भी कम है। सड़क के किनारे बने मकानों और पैड़ियों के कारण कई स्थानों पर रास्ता और संकरा हो गया है।
ग्रामीणों ने कहा कि यदि जल्द रास्ते का चौड़ीकरण नहीं किया गया तो वे दोबारा धरना-प्रदर्शन करेंगे। उन्होंने 24 फीट चौड़े रास्ते की मांग पूरी होने तक आंदोलन जारी रखने की चेतावनी दी।
नायब तहसीलदार और नगर पालिका की टीम करेगी जांच
मामले में मोदीनगर एसडीएम ने ग्रामीणों को जांच का आश्वासन दिया। एसडीएम के अनुसार नायब तहसीलदार और नगर पालिका की टीम का गठन किया गया है।
टीम मौके पर जाकर रास्ते की स्थिति और उसकी वास्तविक चौड़ाई की जांच करेगी। जांच रिपोर्ट के आधार पर आगे की कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
फिलहाल ग्रामीणों की मांग और प्रशासन की जांच के बाद यह स्पष्ट होगा कि रास्ते को 24 फीट तक चौड़ा करने के लिए किन स्थानों पर अतिक्रमण हटाने या अन्य कार्रवाई की जरूरत है।
Sara Village Residents Demand 24-Foot Road in Modinagar; Warn of Protest if Road Not Widened
Modinagar: A large number of residents from Sara village reached the Modinagar tehsil office on Saturday during Tehsil Diwas, demanding the widening of the road connecting Vivekanand Chowk to Sara village.
The villagers told the SDM that the road should be widened to 24 feet to ease traffic movement. They said they had previously raised the issue several times during Tehsil Diwas and had also staged protests over the demand.
Narrow Road Causes Traffic Problems
According to the villagers, the road leading to Sara village is extremely narrow at several points. They said the situation is particularly problematic near the mosque, where the stopping of even one vehicle can lead to traffic congestion.
The villagers also expressed concern that the problem could increase during the upcoming sugarcane season, when sugarcane carts and tractor-trolleys are expected to use the route frequently.
They said farmers and other residents face difficulties while commuting through the road.
Earlier Agreement on 24-Foot Road
The villagers said a meeting with the SDM had previously resulted in an agreement to widen the road to 24 feet. According to them, it was also decided that steps and other encroachments along the route would be removed so that the road could be widened to the proposed 24-foot width.
However, the villagers alleged that only part of the road has been developed. They claimed that encroachments have not yet been removed from the narrowest sections and the road has not been widened to the proposed width.
Road Width Varies From 20 to 22 Feet, Villagers Claim
The villagers claimed that the road has different widths at different points. According to them, it is around 22 feet wide at some locations, while at other points it is 20 feet or even narrower.
They alleged that houses and steps constructed along the roadside have further reduced the available road space.
The villagers warned that if their demand is not addressed, they will stage another protest and continue their agitation until the road is widened to 24 feet.
Officials to Inspect Road
The Modinagar SDM assured the villagers that the matter would be examined. According to the SDM, a team comprising the Naib Tehsildar and Nagar Palika officials has been formed.
The team will visit the site to inspect the condition and actual width of the road. Further action will be taken on the basis of the inspection report.
The exact requirements for widening the road, including any action regarding encroachments, will become clearer after the official inspection.
