Tiger Shroff Firing Incident: FWICE Urges Producers to Strengthen Film Set Security
Tiger Shroff Firing Incident: The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has urged film producers and production houses to strengthen security arrangements at shooting locations following the recent firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai. The federation’s advisory emphasises thorough background checks, identity verification, stricter access control and adequate security at studios and film sets.
FWICE Issues Security Advisory for Film Sets
In its advisory, FWICE cautioned producers against engaging unidentified or unverified individuals without checking their identities, backgrounds and professional credentials. It also stressed the importance of maintaining accurate crew records and implementing precautionary measures to prevent potential security threats at shooting locations.
The federation has urged production houses to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities or potential threats to the concerned security agencies and law enforcement authorities.
Tiger Shroff Firing Incident in Mumbai
The advisory follows a firing incident reported on October 18 in Mumbai’s Juhu area. According to reports, Tiger Shroff was present at a football ground for a football session when gunshots were fired at the location.
The incident prompted a police investigation, with investigators examining the circumstances surrounding the shooting and possible connections. The case has renewed concerns about the safety of actors and other professionals working in the film industry.
Producers Asked to Verify Crew Members
FWICE has encouraged producers and filmmakers to give preference to skilled, experienced and verified professionals associated with its affiliated associations. The federation said these associations maintain membership records and examine applicants’ documents and professional credentials.
However, FWICE clarified that association membership should not replace independent background checks. Production houses have been advised to conduct additional verification wherever necessary to strengthen accountability and reduce potential risks.
The advisory also calls for proper access management at studios and shooting locations. Maintaining accurate crew lists and ensuring that only authorised individuals enter restricted areas can form part of a broader security strategy.
Security Must Cover Every Member of the Film Industry
FWICE has emphasised that security arrangements should protect more than actors and other high-profile personalities. Technicians, artists, directors, producers, workers and everyone present at a shooting location must also be covered by appropriate safety measures.
The federation has called for cooperation among producers, filmmakers, production houses and affiliated associations to implement the recommended precautions effectively.
FWICE Calls for Vigilance and Responsible Hiring
The federation has reiterated that protecting human life must remain a priority for the film and television industry. Thorough personnel verification, stronger security arrangements and timely reporting of suspicious activity are among the measures producers are being encouraged to adopt.
