Bisokhar Farmers Demand Ban on Land Sale Before Lease Expiry, Submit Memorandum to SDM
Modinagar: Several farmers from Bisokhar village reached the Modinagar tehsil on Saturday during Tehsil Day and submitted a written memorandum to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) regarding the alleged sale and purchase of land before the expiry of its lease period.
The farmers have demanded a probe into the matter based on official revenue records and sought action to stop the sale and purchase of the disputed land until the status of the lease and ownership is clarified.
According to the farmers, their ancestors had leased their land to Modi Mill, and the lease period is stated to continue until 2045. The farmers alleged that efforts to sell and purchase some of the concerned land are taking place before the completion of the lease period.
The farmers also claimed that the names of members of some of their families are still recorded in the revenue records for certain khasra numbers.
Farmers Raise Questions Over Khasra Numbers 714, 675 and 671
The farmers also raised questions regarding the sale and purchase of certain plots whose khasra-khatauni records allegedly do not mention Modi Mill or its related entities.
They specifically sought clarification regarding Khasra Numbers 714, 675 and 671. According to the farmers, around 99 bighas of land under Khasra Number 714 is being claimed to be under lease, while the names of members of several farming families are reportedly still reflected at various places in the revenue records.
Complaint Also Submitted at Ghaziabad Court, Farmers Say
The farmers said that a complaint regarding the matter has also been submitted at the Ghaziabad court. They said that the actual status of the land can be established only after examining the relevant lease documents and official revenue records.
Demand for Probe Before Any Further Land Transactions
The farmers urged the SDM to conduct a detailed investigation based on the revenue records and relevant documents. They also demanded that necessary action be taken to stop the sale and purchase of the disputed land until the investigation is completed.
The farmers said that a detailed inquiry would help clarify the ownership status, lease period and revenue records related to the disputed land.
