मोदीनगर: गाजियाबाद के मोदीनगर तहसील परिसर स्थित रजिस्ट्रार ऑफिस में मंगलवार को भीड़ का फायदा उठाकर चोरों ने एक वकील के क्लर्क की जेब से 50 हजार रुपये चोरी कर लिए। घटना दोपहर करीब 11 बजे की बताई जा रही है। रुपये गायब होने की जानकारी मिलने के बाद तहसील परिसर में हड़कंप मच गया। घटना को लेकर अधिवक्ताओं में नाराजगी है।
रजिस्ट्रार ऑफिस में रजिस्ट्री के काम से गया था क्लर्क
जानकारी के अनुसार, एक वकील का क्लर्क रजिस्ट्री से संबंधित कार्य के लिए अपने चैंबर से मोदीनगर तहसील के रजिस्ट्रार ऑफिस पहुंचा था। उस समय कार्यालय में काफी भीड़ मौजूद थी।
पीड़ित के मुताबिक, वह भीड़ के बीच अपने काम में व्यस्त था। इसी दौरान किसी व्यक्ति ने मौका पाकर उसकी जेब से 50 हजार रुपये निकाल लिए। उस समय क्लर्क को जेब से रुपये निकाले जाने की जानकारी नहीं हुई।
चैंबर लौटने पर चला चोरी का पता
रजिस्ट्री संबंधी काम पूरा करने के बाद क्लर्क वापस अपने चैंबर पर पहुंचा। वहां अपनी जेब देखने पर उसे रुपये गायब मिले। इसके बाद उसने आसपास रुपये तलाशे और घटना की जानकारी अधिवक्ताओं को दी।
माना जा रहा है कि जेबकतरों ने तहसील परिसर में मौजूद भीड़ का फायदा उठाकर वारदात को अंजाम दिया।
तहसील में सुरक्षा बढ़ाने की मांग
घटना की जानकारी मिलने के बाद अधिवक्ताओं में रोष देखने को मिला। वकीलों का कहना है कि मोदीनगर तहसील में रोजाना बड़ी संख्या में लोग रजिस्ट्री और अन्य सरकारी कार्यों के लिए पहुंचते हैं। रजिस्ट्रार ऑफिस सहित तहसील परिसर के कई हिस्सों में अक्सर भीड़ रहती है।
अधिवक्ताओं ने आशंका जताई कि भीड़ का फायदा उठाकर जेबकतरे सक्रिय हो सकते हैं। उन्होंने तहसील परिसर में सुरक्षा व्यवस्था मजबूत करने, निगरानी बढ़ाने और संदिग्ध लोगों पर नजर रखने की मांग की है।
वकीलों का कहना है कि तहसील परिसर में सुरक्षा व्यवस्था पर्याप्त नहीं होने पर इस तरह की घटनाएं दोबारा हो सकती हैं। उन्होंने संबंधित अधिकारियों से मामले का संज्ञान लेकर सुरक्षा व्यवस्था को बेहतर करने की मांग की है।
मोदीनगर तहसील में जेबकतरी की घटना से अधिवक्ताओं में रोष
फिलहाल, 50 हजार रुपये चोरी होने की इस घटना को लेकर तहसील परिसर में चर्चा बनी हुई है। भीड़भाड़ वाले स्थानों पर लोगों से अपनी नकदी और जरूरी सामान को सुरक्षित रखने की अपील भी की जा रही है।

Modinagar: Thieves allegedly stole ₹50,000 from the pocket of a lawyer’s clerk at the Registrar Office located inside the Modinagar tehsil complex in Ghaziabad on Tuesday. The incident reportedly took place at around 11 am, when the office was crowded.
The theft came to light after the clerk returned to his chamber and discovered that the cash was missing. The incident caused concern across the tehsil premises and anger among local advocates.
Clerk Had Gone to Registrar Office for Registry Work
According to the information available, the lawyer’s clerk had gone from his chamber to the Registrar Office at Modinagar Tehsil for registry-related work.
The office was reportedly crowded at the time. The clerk said that while he was among the crowd, an unidentified person allegedly took ₹50,000 from his pocket.
He did not immediately realise that the money had been taken.
Cash Missing After Returning to Chamber
After completing his work at the Registrar Office, the clerk returned to his chamber. When he checked his pocket, he found that the cash was missing.
He then searched the surrounding area and informed other advocates about the incident.
It is suspected that the alleged thieves took advantage of the crowd at the Modinagar tehsil complex to carry out the theft.
Advocates Demand Better Security at Tehsil
The incident has triggered anger among advocates working at the tehsil. Lawyers said that a large number of people visit Modinagar Tehsil every day for property registrations and other official work.
The Registrar Office and several other areas of the tehsil complex often remain crowded, which could provide an opportunity for pickpockets to operate.
Advocates have demanded increased security and surveillance across the tehsil premises. They have also called for better monitoring of suspicious activities to prevent similar incidents in the future.
