Modinagar Fire Incident : गाजियाबाद के मोदीनगर तहसील क्षेत्र के ग्राम रोरी में हुए अग्निकांड ने कई गरीब परिवारों की मुश्किलें बढ़ा दी हैं। 8 जून 2026 की सुबह हुए हादसे में करीब 20 उपलों के बिटोरे जलकर राख हो गए। प्रभावित महिलाओं ने प्रशासन से आर्थिक सहायता और मुआवजे की मांग की है।
11 हजार वोल्ट बिजली लाइन में शॉर्ट सर्किट से लगी आग
ग्रामीणों के अनुसार गांव के ऊपर से गुजर रही 11 हजार वोल्ट की हाईटेंशन बिजली लाइन में अचानक शॉर्ट सर्किट हुआ, जिसके बाद चिंगारी गिरने से उपलों के बिटोरों में आग लग गई। तेज हवा के कारण आग तेजी से फैल गई और देखते ही देखते कई परिवारों का ईंधन जलकर नष्ट हो गया।
बरसात के लिए जुटाया था ईंधन, एक झटके में हुआ नुकसान
पीड़ित महिलाओं ने बताया कि उन्होंने आने वाले बरसात के मौसम को ध्यान में रखते हुए महीनों की मेहनत से उपले तैयार कर सुरक्षित रखे थे। अधिकांश परिवार आर्थिक रूप से कमजोर हैं और उनके पास गैस सिलेंडर जैसी सुविधाएं उपलब्ध नहीं हैं। ऐसे में उपले ही खाना पकाने का मुख्य साधन थे, जो अब पूरी तरह खत्म हो गए हैं।
एसडीएम कार्यालय पहुंचीं महिलाएं, मुआवजे की मांग
बुधवार को प्रभावित महिलाएं मोदीनगर तहसील पहुंचीं और एसडीएम को ज्ञापन सौंपकर नुकसान का आकलन कराने तथा उचित मुआवजा दिलाने की मांग की। महिलाओं का कहना है कि आर्थिक सहायता मिलने से वे दोबारा ईंधन की व्यवस्था कर सकेंगी और परिवार का गुजारा आसान हो सकेगा।
प्रशासन ने जांच और सहायता का दिया आश्वासन
मोदीनगर एसडीएम ने पीड़ित महिलाओं को भरोसा दिलाया कि मामले की जांच कराई जाएगी और शासन के नियमों के अनुसार सहायता उपलब्ध कराने का प्रयास किया जाएगा। ग्रामीणों ने भी प्रशासन से जल्द राहत प्रदान करने की मांग की है ताकि प्रभावित परिवारों को राहत मिल सके।

Modinagar Fire Incident : A fire incident in Rori village of Modinagar tehsil, Ghaziabad, has created serious difficulties for several poor families. Around 20 stacks of cow-dung cakes (fuel cakes) were completely destroyed in a fire on the morning of June 8, 2026. The affected women have appealed to the administration for financial assistance and compensation.
Fire Caused by Short Circuit in 11,000-Volt Power Line
According to villagers, a sudden short circuit occurred in the 11,000-volt high-tension electricity line passing over the village. Sparks from the line reportedly fell onto the stacks of cow-dung cakes, triggering a fire. Due to strong winds, the flames spread rapidly, destroying the stored fuel of several families within a short time.
Fuel Collected for the Monsoon Season Destroyed
The affected women said they had spent months preparing and storing cow-dung cakes for use during the upcoming monsoon season. Most of the families are economically weak and do not have access to facilities such as LPG gas cylinders. For them, cow-dung cakes serve as the primary source of fuel for cooking. The fire completely wiped out their fuel reserves.
Women Approach SDM Office Seeking Compensation
On Wednesday, the affected women reached the Modinagar Tehsil office and submitted a memorandum to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM). They requested an assessment of the damage and demanded appropriate compensation. The women stated that financial assistance would help them arrange fuel again and support their families during the coming months.
Administration Assures Investigation and Assistance
The Modinagar SDM assured the women that the matter would be investigated and efforts would be made to provide assistance according to government rules and regulations. Villagers have also urged the administration to provide relief at the earliest so that the affected families can recover from the loss and manage their daily cooking needs.
