Transformer Short Circuit : गाजियाबाद के मोदीनगर थाना क्षेत्र में देर रात ट्रांसफार्मर में हुए शॉर्ट सर्किट के कारण भीषण आग लगने से तीन खोखे पूरी तरह जलकर राख हो गए। घटना कस्बा रोड स्थित श्याम पैलेस के पास की है। हादसे में कोई जनहानि नहीं हुई, लेकिन खोखों में रखा सामान पूरी तरह नष्ट हो गया, जिससे दुकानदारों को भारी नुकसान उठाना पड़ा।
जानकारी के अनुसार बुधवार और गुरुवार की दरमियानी रात करीब 3 से 4 बजे के बीच ट्रांसफार्मर में तेज धमाके के साथ शॉर्ट सर्किट हुआ। ट्रांसफार्मर से निकली चिंगारियों ने पास में रखे तीन खोखों को अपनी चपेट में ले लिया। रात का समय होने के कारण आसपास सन्नाटा था, जिससे आग तेजी से फैल गई और तीनों खोखे धू-धू कर जलने लगे।
सुबह स्थानीय लोगों और राहगीरों ने मौके पर पहुंचकर देखा कि तीनों खोखे पूरी तरह जलकर खाक हो चुके थे। आग की लपटों से ट्रांसफार्मर भी बुरी तरह क्षतिग्रस्त हो गया। बताया गया है कि खोखों में रखा दैनिक उपयोग का सामान, फर्नीचर और अन्य सामग्री पूरी तरह जलकर नष्ट हो गई।
स्थानीय लोगों ने बिजली विभाग से जर्जर ट्रांसफार्मरों और बिजली लाइनों की जांच कराने की मांग की है, ताकि भविष्य में इस तरह की घटनाओं को रोका जा सके। घटना के बाद क्षेत्र में कुछ समय के लिए बिजली आपूर्ति भी बाधित रही।

Modinagar: A massive fire caused by a transformer short circuit late at night destroyed three kiosks in the Modinagar police station area of Ghaziabad. The incident occurred near Shyam Palace on Kasba Road. No casualties were reported, but all goods stored inside the kiosks were completely damaged, resulting in significant losses for the shopkeepers.
According to information, a transformer developed a short circuit with a loud blast between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. Sparks from the transformer quickly spread to three nearby kiosks. Due to the late-night hours and deserted surroundings, the fire spread rapidly and engulfed all three kiosks.
By morning, local residents and passersby found the kiosks completely reduced to ashes. The transformer was also severely damaged in the incident. Daily-use items, furniture, and other materials stored inside the kiosks were completely destroyed in the fire.
Residents have urged the electricity department to inspect old transformers and power lines to prevent similar incidents in the future.
