नई दिल्ली: केंद्रीय सड़क परिवहन एवं राजमार्ग मंत्री नितिन गडकरी ने मुंबई-गोवा हाईवे के निर्माण और चौड़ीकरण में हो रही देरी को लेकर सख्त रुख अपनाया है। उन्होंने कहा कि वह अक्टूबर में मुंबई से सड़क मार्ग के जरिए गोवा जाएंगे और पूरे हाईवे का व्यक्तिगत रूप से निरीक्षण करेंगे। गडकरी ने यह भी स्पष्ट किया कि वह मुंबई-गोवा हाईवे के उद्घाटन समारोह में शामिल नहीं होंगे।
गोवा के पणजी के पास पोरवोरिम में छह लेन वाले एलिवेटेड रोड कॉरिडोर के उद्घाटन के दौरान गडकरी ने कहा कि मुंबई-गोवा हाईवे के काम में हुई अत्यधिक देरी के कारण उन्हें शर्मिंदगी महसूस होती है।
उन्होंने कहा कि वह अक्टूबर में मुंबई एयरपोर्ट पहुंचने के बाद सड़क मार्ग से गोवा जाएंगे। इस दौरान वह पूरे मुंबई-गोवा हाईवे के काम का जायजा लेंगे और यह देखेंगे कि यात्रियों के लिए सफर कितना सुविधाजनक बनाया गया है।
मुंबई-गोवा हाईवे महाराष्ट्र के तटीय कोंकण क्षेत्र से होकर गुजरता है और लंबे समय से इसके निर्माण एवं चौड़ीकरण का काम चल रहा है। इस परियोजना में देरी के कारण मुंबई और कोंकण के बीच यात्रा करने वाले लोगों को लंबे समय से परेशानियों का सामना करना पड़ रहा है।
ठेकेदारों और अधिकारियों पर जारी रहेगी कार्रवाई
नितिन गडकरी ने कहा कि बुनियादी ढांचा परियोजनाओं में देरी और खराब गुणवत्ता वाले काम के लिए जिम्मेदार ठेकेदारों और अधिकारियों के खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई जारी रहेगी।
उन्होंने कहा कि वह एक साल के भीतर अधिकतम संख्या में ठेकेदारों को ब्लैकलिस्ट करने और उनके खिलाफ कार्रवाई करने के साथ-साथ जिम्मेदार अधिकारियों को निलंबित करने का रिकॉर्ड बनाना चाहते हैं।
गडकरी ने साफ किया कि वह इस कार्रवाई को रोकने वाले नहीं हैं और इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर प्रोजेक्ट्स में लापरवाही को किसी भी कीमत पर स्वीकार नहीं किया जाएगा।
मुंबई-गोवा हाईवे प्रोजेक्ट में क्यों हुई देरी?
मुंबई-गोवा हाईवे के निर्माण में देरी के पीछे कई कारण बताए गए हैं। गडकरी के अनुसार, भूमि अधिग्रहण से जुड़े कानूनी विवाद और आंतरिक मतभेद परियोजना में देरी के प्रमुख कारण रहे हैं।
इसके अलावा, मानसून के दौरान निचले इलाकों में जलभराव ने भी निर्माण कार्य और सड़क के इस्तेमाल को प्रभावित किया। हालांकि, गडकरी ने कहा था कि जलभराव की समस्या कुछ सीमित हिस्सों तक ही है।
इस साल मार्च में गडकरी ने यह भी बताया था कि हाईवे के कुछ हिस्सों में वन क्षेत्र से जुड़े मामलों के कारण काम प्रभावित हुआ है। उन्होंने कहा था कि संबंधित अधिकारियों के साथ समन्वय कर इन समस्याओं का समाधान किया जा रहा है।
2015 में भी पूरी होने की जताई गई थी उम्मीद
मुंबई-गोवा हाईवे परियोजना लंबे समय से देरी का सामना कर रही है। अप्रैल 2015 में नितिन गडकरी ने उम्मीद जताई थी कि लंबे समय से लंबित मुंबई-गोवा हाईवे का काम जून 2015 तक पूरा हो सकता है।
हाईवे के पूरा होने से मुंबई और कोंकण क्षेत्र के बीच रोजाना यात्रा करने वाले लोगों को राहत मिलने की उम्मीद है। लंबे समय से खराब सड़कों और गड्ढों के कारण यात्रियों को परेशानी होती रही है।
Nitin Gadkari ‘Ashamed’ Over Mumbai-Goa Highway Delay, Won’t Attend Inauguration
New Delhi: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has taken a strong stand over the prolonged delay in the construction and widening of the Mumbai-Goa Highway. Gadkari said he will travel from Mumbai to Goa by road in October to personally inspect the entire stretch and assess the condition of the project.
Gadkari also made it clear that he will not attend the inauguration ceremony of the Mumbai-Goa Highway.
Speaking after inaugurating a six-lane elevated road corridor at Porvorim near Panaji in Goa, Gadkari said he felt “ashamed” over the extent of the delay in completing the Mumbai-Goa highway project.
He said he would land at Mumbai airport in October and travel to Goa by road to inspect the highway and determine whether the journey had been made more convenient for travellers.
The highway passes through Maharashtra’s coastal Konkan region and is considered an important road link between Mumbai and Goa. The prolonged delay has caused difficulties for commuters and travellers, particularly those travelling towards the Konkan region.
Strict Action Against Contractors, Officials
Gadkari also warned that strict action would continue against contractors and officials responsible for delays and poor-quality infrastructure work.
He said he wants to set a record within a year by blacklisting the maximum possible number of contractors and taking action against them, while also suspending officials found responsible for negligence.
The minister made it clear that he would continue taking action against those responsible for delays and substandard work on major infrastructure projects.
Why Has the Mumbai-Goa Highway Been Delayed?
Several factors have contributed to delays in the Mumbai-Goa Highway project. Gadkari had earlier cited legal disputes and internal conflicts related to land acquisition as some of the major reasons behind the delay.
Waterlogging in low-lying areas, particularly during the monsoon, has also affected construction activity and road conditions. However, Gadkari had said that the waterlogging problem was limited to certain stretches.
In March this year, Gadkari also said that forest clearances had delayed construction work on some portions of the highway. He said the government was working with the concerned authorities to resolve the issues and complete the pending stretches.
Mumbai-Goa Highway Has Faced Years of Delays
The Mumbai-Goa Highway has been facing delays for several years. In April 2015, Gadkari had said that the long-delayed highway was likely to be completed by June that year.
Once completed, the highway is expected to provide significant relief to daily commuters and travellers heading towards the Konkan region. The improved road connectivity is also expected to make travel between Mumbai and Goa smoother and more convenient.
